The WGJ-R manual scales is used to weigh poultry manually. A weighing module is combined with a steering controller and it is equipped with a handle to hook it up. Measuring range is from 0,03kg to 32kg with the resolution of 1g. The scales can store more than 50 million of measurements. An individual recording session can last up to 1000 days.

The scales can be easily moved and installed thanks to the battery. It informs about performing a weighing act, saves it in its memory and measures statistical parameters i.a. an average weight, growth with relation to the previous day, flock unification, etc.

The procedure of weighing enables recording of up to 8 flocks of both sexes, independently for each sex  (up to 16 independent recordings). Standard curves for the most popular species: ROSS 308, COBB 500, F-15 and FLEX provide fast assessment of flock’s age by reference of the average to the standard curve for a particular day. The collected data may undergo statistical analysis. The following values are calculated:

• minimum weight per day,

• maximum weight per day,

• an average weight,

• variance,

• standard deviation,

• uniformity (CV),

• flock’s unification (with a selected range, by default 10%),

• weight growth.

The scales is equipped with an RS-232 interface which enables to connect a PC computer  to control the scales remotely, read stored data and analyse them in details. A computer software is not required for scales operation but it extends its functionality. That is why it is offered separately. However, when buying the scales the software is offered for testing for 3 months of the date of purchase.

The manual scales WGJ-R is now offered in a new set which includes (except the scales, the manual and CD with a computer software) a power supply for battery charging, a cable for connection with a PC computer (by means of a COM port), a swivel for reduction of errors in case of pan or birds movement (during weighing it is mounted on a scales hook), but mainly a resistant and dustproof suitcase that protects the scales during transportation and storage in extreme environmental conditions (moisture, etc.).

The computer program enables to illustrate the results of weighing acts stored in the memory of the scales during the breeding period and it has the following functions:

• reading and statistical analysis of measurements,

• statistics charts (average, number of weighing acts, unification, growth, etc.),

• reading and recording of scales settings including ‘Flocks’ configuration,

• operation within the Windows environment, from 98 version.
